v2.14 - September 21, 2026

DHCP - Added a new DHCP tab for pro users - This allows you to
analyze DHCP requests on the network... AND NetViews can act as a
DHCP server for test scenarios as well. Need to give an IP address
to a client, NetViews can do that now!

DNS - Added a new DNS tab for pro users - this allows for advanced
DNS requests and timing measurements. NetViews is also able to detect
improper responses from DNS servers, like when you are behind a
              guest portal.

v2.13 - April 13, 2026

Improvements to Host Scanner: Made significant improvements to the host scanner (which can be accessed through the "Scan One" toolbar item). Scan an IP address or hostname, and see what can be discovered!

Network logs export: You can now export the Network logs for later analysis.

Enhancement: VPN interfaces now are present in the interface dropdown, with specific routes and DNS entries shown.

FIX: The wireless audit tools wouldn't always be available if a wired port was logged in.

v2.12 - April 6, 2026

New Feature: HTTP, HTTPS, and DNS "pinging" - Instead of only relying on ping, especially on networks where that might be blocked, you can now see if a host is up or down based on whether it answers HTTP, HTTPS or DNS queries! Simply right click a host in the ping monitor pane, and adjust the method!

New Feature: MacOS Log Viewing - You can now enable MacOS/Syslog logging where entries related to networking (Wi-Fi and wired) are filtered and shown. More with this coming in the future! Feel free to disable if it is too noisy for you.

Wi-Fi Beacon Rate: In addition to showing the Beacon Interval (last version), we are also now showing the beacon rate. Still have 1 Mbps beacons enabled? Please stop!

Wi-Fi 7 compatibility: Now that M5 based Macs have a built in Wi-Fi 7 card, .be rates needed to be added.

UI Adjustments: Hover boxes are a little smarter, and so am I now.

Interface improvements: Over the last two weeks, huge improvements were made to how we query statistics from the wireless card. During normal operations, we now will never have the card scan other channels (which *may* impact performance in some cases). This took some work to get through!

v2.11 - March 20, 2026

New Feature: Visual Traceroute - Added ability to perform visual traceroutes for Pro users. Using UDP and/or ICMP you can now trace a path to a host you are interested in. There will be improvements coming on this, but enjoy! - Thank you Rasmus K.

Arista access points - AP name and vendor text improvements - Thank you Chris O. for all your patience in Beta testing!

HUGE performance updates for the menu bar - especially around bandwidth measurements.

FIX: Crash in certain race conditions on startup - Thank you Nicolai F. for all your patience as well!

FIX: Better detection and handling if live packet capture isn't working - Thank you again Nicolai F.!

Wi-Fi Beacon Interval - Added a readout for beacon interval. This is now shown on the main screen, in the dropdown menu bar, and as a variable that that can used in the menu bar. Thank you Chris O.

Toolbar Readability - Increased the font size and readability. Will continue to fine tune. Thank you Chris O.

Toolbar Dropdown Formatting - Improved the layout of the wireless section.

WLAN Pi Enhancements: Better theming, auto-follow macOS channel

capture will automatically change!), better auto-detection, added
              .2 second dwell time option

SSH Enhancement - when connecting to an SSH host, NetViews will
ask you for a username to use first, with memory.

Many new variables for the menu bar!

Also, try putting a dns name in (eg: www.netviews.app) and you will get certificate details for ALL domains, DNS information, etc. You can right click an entry from the scan results to quickly scan a host as well.
