What is NetViews?

NetViews is a modern, macOS network scanning app inspired by the specialized needs of IT, engineering, and network professionals. It combines host discovery, port scanning, real-time monitoring, and vendor/DNS insights with a clean, native interface - giving you the tools you need without the complexity you don't.

About the Developer

NetViews is built by Bill Bushong, a network engineer who wanted a better tool for diagnosing and monitoring networks on macOS.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the basic usage of the program?

Select a network interface from the sidebar, and NetViews will automatically begin discovering hosts and displaying network information. Use the toolbar to access scanning, pinging, Wi-Fi diagnostics, and more. Check out the Help section for a full overview.

What is the difference between Standard and Pro?

Standard includes all the core features: live network monitoring, scanning, probing, speed tests, QR codes, Wi-Fi tools, and calculators. Pro adds History & Timeline views for pings and connectivity, advanced Wi-Fi audits, and upcoming toolbar support. See the full comparison on the Purchase page.

How do I request a feature?

Send your feature requests using our contact form. All feedback is welcome and helps shape the future of NetViews.

Is this program safe?

Yes. NetViews is code-signed by Apple and contains NO tracking whatsoever. The only network calls it makes are to check for version updates. All payment processing is handled by a third-party processor (Lemon Squeezy) - NetViews never sees or stores your payment information.

This program performs network sniffing - is this safe?

Yes. NetViews only captures specific protocol packets needed for network diagnostics: LLDP, EAP, DHCP, ARP, and ICMP. It does not capture, store, or transmit any sensitive data such as passwords, browsing history, or personal information.

What permissions are needed to run this program?
  • Location Services - Required by macOS to access Wi-Fi information
  • Network Access - For scanning, pinging, and monitoring network activity
  • Sniffer Interfaces - For packet capture of diagnostic protocols (LLDP, DHCP, etc.)
